A series of coordinated bomb attacks that first struck London’s public transport system during the morning rush hour of 7 July, three on the underground trains and one on a bus. The explosions created massive disruption of the capital’s transport and telecommunications infrastructure. Fifty-six people were killed, including the four suicide bombers, and some 700 injured.
