Public health is a wide-ranging field of health care that involves numerous policies, medical specialties, and efforts, all aimed at understanding, preventing, and managing disease and promoting better health outcomes among individuals, communities, population cohorts, nations, global regions, and the entire world.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the agency of the United Nations (UN) that is responsible for public health.
