How to Find Books and Other Things: Account Set-Up

This guide will help you learn to use the library catalog to find books, videos, articles, and more.

Did you know?

The library owns over 8,000 media items, including DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, audio cassette tapes, and vinyl records.  Equipment is available for listening and/or viewing.

Set Up Your Account

You can set up a personal account in the library catalog that will allow you to see what items you have checked out, find out if you have any fines, and place holds on items you want to use.

From any WorldCat Local catalog page, click "Sign in" next to "My Library Account."

When the "Sign in" box opens, select "Set/reset password."

In the next box, type your 7-digit DBU ID number* in the "User Name" box, and click "Request new password."

*Your ID number can be found on your ID card. Use the first seven numbers above the barcode.

A link will be sent to your DBU email account. (Check your junk mail if you don't see it right away.) Click the link in your email to set up your password.

That's it! Click the "Access Account" tab above to learn how to use your new account.
