Where is the library?

Vance Memorial Library is located in the Collins Learning Center. See the DBU Map.

Where do I park?

You may park in Parking Lot 4, near Pilgrim Chapel and The Quad; as well as Parking Lot 1, behind Collins Learning Center. See the DBU Map.

Are parents required to stay? 

Parents should remain on campus, but will not be required to stay with their child. DBU staff and students leading the children have had a background check and have received training in child safety specific to our event. 

If I choose not to stay with my child, where can I go on campus?

Parents are welcome to remain in the library. You can browse our collection, find a quiet spot to do some work, or enjoy a cup of coffee at the coffeehouse on the 2nd floor. Parents can also visit the DBU Coffeehouse, bookstore, any of the buildings on campus, or, weather permitting, walk the 1-mile trail that loops around campus. The Patriot Cafe (Chick-fil-A) is also open daily 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Does my child need to bring anything?

Your child will need a refillable water bottle and a backpack or tote bag.

Will food be provided? My child has food allergies.

Yes, snacks will be provided. We have tried to factor in possible food allergies. Depending on the day they attend, they may be given Goldfish, fruit snacks, a juice box, and/or a popsicle. 

Is there anywhere on campus that serves food?

Chick-fil-A is open daily from 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Lunch is also served at The Union daily from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The DBU Coffeehouse serves light snacks and deserts and is open daily 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You may also consider packing your own lunch to enjoy a picnic anywhere on our campus.
