Important Information

We are looking forward to hosting you next week at the Institute. Here is some important information for you to make your final plans.

  1. What to bring:
    1. Bedding and towels. If you are staying on campus, the dorm rooms will not have linens provided. You must bring your own bedding and towels.
    2. Cool clothes but be aware. The high is forecasted to be 97 degrees on Wednesday, but our buildings are often rather cool. You might bring something long sleeve if you are cold natured.
    3. Headphones. If you want the audio guided tour of the Bush Library, you must bring your own headphones.
  2. Check-in and Registration will take place in the Lobby of the Collins Learning Center (also where the library is located). There will be a marked Information Desk that will have your welcome packet and room key. This desk will be manned until 6 p.m. on both Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17. If you think you will be late, please text me and we will make other arrangements. 469-267-0246
  3. Dorms. The women will be in the Crowley Hall and the men will be in Lange Hall. Some of the men will share a suite style bathroom with the attendees in the connected suite. Women have a sink in each room and community style bathrooms (My daughter spent three semesters in Crowley and thought it was nice).
  4. Facilities. All of our sessions and meals will be held in Nation Hall. We will have shuttles that run from the dorms to Nation throughout the conference. Our sessions will be in Nation LL03 and our meals will be in the Dome Room on the third floor.
  5. Campus Tour. We will have an optional campus tour at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Meet in the Lobby of the Collins Learning Center if you would like to join the tour. We will use our vans to get around most of the campus.
  6. Library Tour & Reception. After our keynote on Wednesday night, we invite you over to the library for a reception and tour. You can see a little of what our library is all about in this video -
  7. George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum Tour. The Thursday tour of the museum is expected to take 1 ½ hours but can be shorter if you do not use the audio guided tour. The museum is located on the campus of Southern Methodist University. You are welcome to visit the rest of campus. I did find out that the Bridwell Theological Library is closed to the public at the time of our visit but the Foundren Library will be open.
  8. Thursday’s dinner will be at Maggiano’s after the museum tour. Dinner attire is casual.

If there are any questions feel free to email me, call, or text me.
