Did you know?

Books in the Reference collection cannot be checked out. This insures that these books will be available to everyone who visits the library.  Copy machines are available so you can make copies of the information you need. Or, you can take a picture of the page with your phone!

Use Your Account

Once you have set up your account, you can place a hold on any item in the library, whether it is currently available or not.  You can place a hold on an available item to reserve it until you can check it out.  Or, you can place a hold on a checked-out item to guarantee that you will be next person to use it once it's checked in.

From any WorldCat Discovery catalog page, click "Sign in" next to "My Library Account."

When the "Sign in" box opens, type your 7-digit DBU ID number for "User Name" and the password you established when you set up your account. (See "Account Set-Up" tab)

Once you're logged in, use the Search feature to find the item you want.  Click on the item's title to view the item's record.

Scroll down to the section marked "Find a copy in the library," and click the "Place Hold" button.  When the confirmation screen appears, click "Submit."

To see what items you may have on hold, select the "My Library Account" link at the top of the screen, then choose the "Holds" tab.

If you change your mind, or you don't need the item any more, cancel your request by clicking the "Remove" button.

When your item becomes available, an email will be sent to your DBU student account.  Come to the library's Circulation Desk to pick up your item.
